Does it make a difference if you run in full screen or windowed for fps?

I'm not completely done with it, but here's my new current Ubuntu desktop.

Hmm.. I like it.
I still have my bumptop desktop thingy, but it doesn't run on startup now. I kept playing baseball with my icons and forgetting where they landed. I'll wait 'till I get my new compy to annihilate my desktop again xD. Offtopic a little (it involves desktops and OS's, so I figured I'd ask).. is Win7 really worth getting to a windows user? AKA, any real benefits over XP? (fancy effects don't count)

Windows 7 is definitely better. Its seriously a lot faster than windows xp and vista and its easier to use. Support for most hardware comes right out of the box. If you have 4gigs or more of ram, I would get the 64bit version. (Both are available for dl after purchase)

Faster than XP? Hmm... I've been needing to go 64 bit anyways, guess I'll try 7.
