Sphere Rider

Postby CasanovaFrankenstein » Sun Jun 21, 2009 10:48 pm

This is really rough, but I really wanted to see if it was doable. To make it better, I would like larger sphere models, and maybe ones that looked like basic planets.

The planet is part of it, but the main thing is that I wanted to make something that could be used to "walk" around on a sphere. Also I wanted make it pretty close to the .16 scale.

I have been thinking about making a game where a person would build a rocket, and launch it to a planet like this. Then it would release a rover and you would explore the planet and maybe have a goal of some sort like retrieve a rock.

I forgot that there were some planets made by bynari for a map that I can't remember the name of. At first I thought they were just effects, but turns out they are solid models! and they are huge! Wheeee!

sb_gooni has planet models ^^

You have to extract it from the bsp.

Which reminds me, anyone want to help with a new 550x80 graphic for the website? (was thinking of gooniverse for ir, that's why it reminded me of it ;) )

That's the cool thing, they are included as models for some reason. I remember playing the map one night and someone had a moving planet--it blew my mind.

I've loaded the models on to build so i can do some more experiments.
